Dr. Ebaa Al Ozairi is the Chief Medical Officer at Dasman Diabetes Institute, a consultant Diabetes, Endocrine and Nutrition and the President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist- Gulf Chapter, being first woman president among all Gulf Countries. Dr. Al Ozairi has completed her intercalated BMSc (hons) in molecular pathology at Dundee University (UK) and graduated from Aberdeen University (UK) for her medical undergraduate studies. Ebaa then joined Newcastle University (UK) for her specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology. During her postgraduate studies in UK, Dr Al Ozairi was awarded The Fulbright fellowship to Joslin Diabetes Institute, affiliates of Harvard medical school, Boston, USA. Her research interest includes diabetes education, technology and metabolic surgery.

Dr. Francesca Annan qualified as a dietitian in Cardiff in 1990, and also has an MSc in Sport & Exercise Nutrition. She currently works as Clinical Specialist Paediatric/Adolescent Diabetes Dietitian at University College London Hospitals having previously been the lead Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. She runs a specialist exercise and diabetes management clinic for children and adolescents.Al ongside her clinical work she teaches on Masters programmes in diabetes management at York and Warwick Universities and is the current chair of the paediatric subgroup of the British Dietetic Association diabetes specialist group. She is a co-author of the 2014 ISPAD clinical consensus guidelines chapter on Nutritional Management of Diabetes and was a member of The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Guideline development group for the Diabetes in Children Guideline (NG18) published in 2015. Outside of work she enjoys being active, especially sea kayaking and actively participates in the running of Liverpool Canoe Club.

Dr. Nidia Rodriguez-Sanchez is a Mexican Sports Dietitian. She completed her degree in Dietetics and Nutrition and then continued her journey by completing the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition, which initiated her interest for optimising athlete nutrition. Nidia gained valuable experience as a Nutrition Advisor in Mexico at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute Mexico (GSSI). She also had the privilege of working with teams at Club Cruz Azul, A.C. in Mexico City, where she contributed to the development of young athletes and the nutrition strategies for the First Team players. Currently, Nidia is sharing her expertise as a lecturer in physiology and nutrition at the University of Stirling in Scotland. Her role involves educating the next generation of sports scientists, and she is also the Programme Director of the MSc in Sports Nutrition. Nidia’s research portfolio is diverse, covering topics such as hydration, body composition, nutrition, and metabolism in athletes and the general population. She is dedicated to advancing the understanding of human physiology in various contexts, including sports environments.

Dr. Noor Al Busaidi completed her Internal Medicine Residency Program as well as her Endocrinology Fellowship at the George Washington Medical Center and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington DC, United States of America in 2003. She graduated from Sultan Qaboos University Medical School in Oman in 1993. Dr. Al Busaidi is the Director of National Diabetes & Endocrine Center and a Senior Consultant Physician in the Sultanate of Oman. Additionally, Dr. Al Busaidi was an active member of the National NCD Committee at the MOH and team leader for National Diabetes and National Obesity Training Initiatives in Oman. Previously, Dr. Al Busaidi held multiple key positions including: Chairperson of the National Diabetes Management Service Development Committee at the Ministry of Health, Program Director and subsequently the Chairperson of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB. Furthermore, Dr. Al Busaidi is the founder and President of the Oman Diabetes Association and a member of the American Association for Clinical Endocrinology and American Diabetes Association.

Dr. Oliver C. Witard is a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine at King’s College London, UK. His multi-disciplinary research spans two research groups within King’s: (i) Muscle: Form and Function in the Centre for Human & Applied Physiological Sciences, and (ii) Diet and Cardiometabolic Health in the Department of Nutrition. Oliver’s research focus is healthy ageing. He is interested in understanding the physiology that underpins why we lose muscle mass and quality with age. His research also explores the role of exercise and novel nutritional interventions – primarily protein and omega 3 fatty acid nutrition – to offset age-related perturbations in muscle metabolism. He has extensive expertise in stable isotopic tracer methodology for measuring in vivo muscle protein turnover in humans and also applies these techniques to athletic populations to optimise training adaptations, body composition and performance. Recently, Oliver has delivered invited talks at international symposiums and industry events, including the British Society for Research in Ageing (BSRA), International Sport and Exercise Nutrition conference, Bridge2Food, Food Matters Live and The Biogredia Health and Nutrition Forum. Oliver is a former board member of the Nutrition Society (Scottish section) and a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh Young Academy of Scotland. Oliver also provides nutrition consultancy for Scottish Ballet.

Prof. Stuart Gray graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc in Physiology and Sports Science and subsequently completed a PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Strathclyde. After post-doctoral positions at Strathclyde and Loughborough Stuart was appointed to Lectureship at the University of Aberdeen. In 2015 he took up a position in the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences at the University of Glasgow where he is now Professor of Muscle and Metabolic Health. He has wide ranging research interests which have been funded by industry, research councils (MRC and BBSRC) and charities (e.g. BHF, Dunhill Medical Trust and Versus Arthritis) and has resulted in ~100 publications. Current research focusses on nutritional strategies to counteract the age-related decline in muscle mass and function and to improve exercise performance in athletic populatiopns, with a particular interest in omega-3 fatty acids. He is also interested in developing pragmatic muscle strengthening exercise interventions for older adults and people with type 2 diabetes. He is director of the MSc in Sport and Exercise Science and Medicine (online) at the University of Glasgow.
